COMPILERIUM STUDIO · LEGAL
Terms of Use
Last updated:
These Terms govern your use of Compilerium Studio (“Compilerium,” the “service,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a programming website operated from California, United States. By using the service you agree to these Terms to the extent permitted by law. If you do not agree, stop using the service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13, or the higher minimum age required by applicable law. If you are below the legal age of adulthood, use the service with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms where required. If you use it for an organization, you must have authority to do so.
2. What the service provides
Compilerium provides a browser editor, examples, supported local code runtimes, previews, and optional AI assistance. Supported compilation and execution occur on your device. Compilerium does not provide a cloud compiler or remote code-execution service.
Language support varies; some languages are editor-only. Browser runtimes may not support the same packages, filesystem features, system calls, or behavior as native environments. An internet connection may be needed for runtimes, packages, models, advertising, and cloud AI. Your normal connectivity and device costs apply.
3. Your code and content
You retain any ownership rights you have in code, prompts, and other content you use with the service. Merely typing or locally running code does not transfer ownership to us. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to use, run, share, or submit that content.
When you request a feature, you permit the processing and display needed to provide it. External AI submissions and sharing also involve the recipient’s terms and practices. These Terms do not grant rights in anyone else’s code, libraries, trademarks, or AI output.
4. Acceptable use
Use the service lawfully and respect others’ rights. You must not:
- Use it to steal information, distribute malware, or attack systems without authorization.
- Infringe intellectual property, privacy, or other legal rights.
- Disrupt the site or its providers, bypass access restrictions, or deliberately abuse shared resources.
- Generate fraudulent advertising activity, including automated or deceptive impressions or clicks.
- Submit content to third-party services without the necessary authority or in breach of their applicable terms.
5. Execution, storage, and sharing
Review code and dependencies before running them, especially share-link content and AI suggestions. Browser workers and sandboxed previews have limits and do not guarantee safety for hostile programs. Code can consume substantial CPU, memory, battery, or bandwidth and, where browser permissions allow, make network requests.
Keep your own backups. Saved code may be lost through clearing site data, private browsing, storage limits, device changes, or browser faults. Compilerium does not provide account-based backups or synchronization. Edits inside the embedded Runno editor are separate from the main editor’s saved code and sharing tools.
Share URLs contain encoded code, not access-controlled projects. Anyone with the full link can read or redistribute that code. Do not put passwords, API keys, or confidential information in share links.
6. Optional AI
Cloud AI sends submitted information, including relevant editor code and request context, directly from your browser to DevToolbox. Local WebLLM processes inference on your device after software and model downloads. See the Privacy Policy for details.
AI suggestions may be inaccurate, insecure, incomplete, or unsuitable. Review and test them before use. We do not guarantee output is original, free of third-party rights, or suitable for production. You decide whether to apply or execute it. Do not send confidential information to cloud AI unless authorized and satisfied with the provider’s practices.
7. Advertising and external services
The site may display Google AdSense ads. Ads and linked sites are provided by third parties. Displaying an ad does not mean we endorse the advertiser or guarantee its products, services, or claims. Dealings with advertisers are between you and the advertiser, subject to applicable law.
Hosts, runtime distributors, package repositories, model providers, and external AI services have their own terms, licenses, privacy practices, and availability. We do not control their changes or outages. Responsibilities we cannot exclude under applicable law remain unaffected.
The Privacy Policy explains information handling and advertising choices. Agreeing to these Terms is not consent to non-essential cookies, personalized advertising, or unrelated data processing.
8. Site materials and licenses
Rights in branding, design, and original site materials belong to their respective owners. You may use the service for its intended purpose, subject to these Terms and applicable law. Open-source components, samples, models, and third-party materials remain subject to their applicable licenses. Those licenses govern rights they expressly grant.
9. Availability and restrictions
We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, including runtimes, AI integrations, and advertising. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or compatibility with every browser, device, or package. Where reasonably necessary for misuse, security issues, or legal obligations, we may restrict access. Mandatory notice, refund, or other rights under applicable law remain unaffected.
10. Warranties and liability
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. You are responsible for reviewing results and deciding whether the service suits your work.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses from using, or being unable to use, the service, including lost profits or lost data. This exclusion applies only where enforceable.
Nothing excludes or limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury where exclusion is prohibited, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Mandatory consumer rights and remedies remain in force.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by California law and applicable United States federal law, subject to mandatory laws that protect you. Any legal proceedings may be brought before a court with jurisdiction in California, except where applicable law allows or requires a different forum. This clause does not remove mandatory protections in your place of residence.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms. The date above identifies the latest version. We will provide additional notice or request acceptance where required by law. Changes do not retroactively remove rights already arising. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
