COMPILERIUM STUDIO · LEGAL
Privacy Policy
Effective
This policy explains information handling on Compilerium. It is a static website: supported compilation and execution occur in your browser. Advertising, asset downloads, and optional cloud AI involve separate third-party connections.
1. About this policy
Compilerium Studio (“Compilerium,” the “site,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a programming website operated from California, United States. This policy covers information handled through the site, including browser storage, external services, advertising, and optional AI features.
2. Your code and browser storage
You can use the editor without creating an account. Compilerium does not provide a cloud compiler or automatically upload code to a remote execution server. Supported runtimes compile or execute locally using browser technologies, including JavaScript and WebAssembly. Some listed languages support editing only.
The main editor saves code, your selected language, and your AI mode preference in this browser’s local storage so they can remain available after refreshing. The embedded Runno editor is separate: its edits are not synchronized with the main editor’s saved code, Share, Copy, or AI context.
Standard input, output, and AI messages are used in the current page. The application does not save a separate execution or conversation history to its own server. Local storage is not an encrypted vault; other people using the same browser profile may be able to access saved content.
4. Optional AI features
Cloud AI — DevToolbox. When you submit a request in cloud AI mode, your browser sends data directly to the configured DevToolbox API. Depending on the action, this includes current editor code and may include your prompt, programming language, and recent console error. The provider also receives ordinary connection information, such as your IP address. This is remote AI processing even though compilation remains local.
The DevToolbox API documentation describes the service. We have not verified its provider-specific logging, retention, or reuse practices and cannot promise that submissions are not retained or reused. Do not send passwords, confidential code, or personal information unless you are authorized and satisfied with the provider’s practices. You can choose local AI instead.
Local AI — WebLLM. Local mode processes inference on your device after downloading software and model files. Download providers receive network requests. Local inference does not stop separate hosting, advertising, or asset requests.
5. Hosting and external assets
Our static host and content delivery providers may receive technical data needed to deliver and protect the site, such as IP addresses, requested URLs, request times, browser information, and referring pages where provided. We may use available operational logs to investigate faults or abuse.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, provided by Cloudflare, Inc. Read Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy for its handling of visitor and service data.
The site loads fonts from Google Fonts and runtime or library assets from services including jsDelivr and esm.sh. Packages and local AI models may require further downloads from their distribution services. These providers receive ordinary network metadata and apply their own policies. See also Google’s Privacy Policy.
6. Google AdSense
Compilerium uses Google AdSense to support the site when advertising placements are enabled. On pages displaying ads, Google and other participating third-party vendors may place or read cookies and use web beacons, IP addresses, or similar technologies to serve ads, measure performance, limit repetition, and detect fraud.
Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other websites. Google’s advertising cookies enable it and its partners to show personalized ads based on those visits, subject to your choices and applicable requirements.
Ad requests can disclose your IP address, browser or device details, page URL, and advertising identifiers. Compilerium does not intentionally include editor code or AI prompts as advertising request parameters. Advertising scripts are separate third-party code, so this is not a guarantee that page content or URL information is inaccessible to them.
Read how Google uses information from partner sites and apps, Google’s advertising information, and Google’s Privacy Policy.
Where additional ad vendors participate, they may also use cookies or similar technologies. A displayed advertising consent message may identify participating vendors and link to their privacy notices. Choices offered by some third-party vendors are also available through the Digital Advertising Alliance.
7. Cookies and privacy choices
Local storage keeps editor content and preferences. Advertising providers may use cookies or other storage. Clearing advertising cookies alone may not remove browser-saved code.
Where required by law, non-essential advertising storage and related processing are subject to your consent. Using the site or accepting its Terms of Use does not itself provide advertising consent. Where a consent message or privacy-settings control is displayed, use its options to review or withdraw site-specific choices. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
You can manage Google’s personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings. Visit the Digital Advertising Alliance’s opt-out page for choices offered by participating companies. These tools have their own scope and do not replace site-specific consent controls.
Non-personalized ads may still use cookies or similar storage for reporting or limiting repetition. Turning off personalization does not necessarily stop advertising data collection.
Browser settings can block cookies or clear site data, including saved code and preferences. Runtime and model caches may require separate clearing of cached files or site storage. Clearing browser data can permanently remove work; download anything you want to keep first.
8. Purposes and legal bases
We handle information to provide requested features, save browser preferences, maintain security and reliability, display and measure advertising, and meet legal duties.
Where GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar rules apply, the basis depends on the activity. We rely on consent for processing that requires it. Other bases may include legitimate interests in maintaining a secure and functioning site, where those interests are not overridden by your rights, and compliance with legal obligations. Third-party providers explain their own bases in their notices.
9. Retention and security
Browser-saved code and preferences have no automatic expiration set by this application. They remain until overwritten, removed through browser settings, or cleared by the browser. Runtime and model caches depend on browser and library behavior.
The static application does not maintain its own visitor-log database. Cloudflare may process technical request and security records under its applicable service terms, settings, and retention policy. Other asset, advertising, and AI providers apply their own retention practices.
We retain operational records under our control for as long as reasonably necessary to investigate technical or security issues, comply with legal duties, or resolve disputes. When those needs end, we delete or anonymize those records.
No website, browser sandbox, storage system, or transmission method provides absolute security. Protect your device, review untrusted code, and keep backups. We cannot directly erase files or local storage on your device; use your browser’s controls for that data.
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information. You may also have the right to restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, or complain to a privacy regulator.
Where applicable US state law provides these rights, you may also opt out of the sale or sharing of information for cross-context behavioral advertising or of targeted advertising, without unlawful discrimination. AdSense disclosures of identifiers or browsing information may fall within those definitions even without a monetary payment for the data. Use the site-specific privacy choices described above.
The application does not respond automatically to browser Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals. Third-party advertising and consent services may handle those signals according to their own settings.
11. International processing
The site is operated from the United States. Hosting, asset, advertising, and AI services may process information in other countries, where privacy protections may differ.
Cloudflare describes its international processing and safeguards in its Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum. Google explains its international processing in its Privacy Policy. These documents describe the providers’ applicable transfer arrangements, including safeguards where required. They do not establish DevToolbox’s own practices, which have not been independently verified by us. We do not guarantee that cloud AI submissions remain in your country.
12. Children
Compilerium is a general-purpose programming tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children under 13, or below a higher age where applicable law requires parental consent. If we learn that we collected a child’s personal information without required consent, we will take steps to delete that information from records under our control.
13. Changes to this policy
We publish policy revisions on this page and update the effective date above. If a material change requires additional notice or consent, we provide that notice or obtain consent before the change takes effect.
